From February 1, 2002, new procedures are introduced for dialing subscribers in Russia and Kazakhstan. These involve dialing the international code "7". The new dialing format is as follows: 8-10-7-еее-YYYYYYY, where 8 - 10 is an index for Ukrainian subscribers to access the international network, 7 - the international code for Russia/Kazakhstan, XXX - zone and city code, YYYYYYY - the subscriber's phone number. For six months both old and new versions of the procedure will operate simultaneously. As before, Golden Telecom GSM subscribers will be able to dial with the symbol "+" (for example, for Russia "+7 XXX YYYYYYY").
